Flip Books

For this brief we had to create 3 flip book sequences
1. releasing a balloon and seeing it shoot off

2. dropping a balloon filled with water

3. flicking an inflated balloon

We started by recording videos of each to use as reference. I ended up exaggerating my animations a lot from those initial videos. I have attempted to record myself flipping the books but its not the clearest to see.

I am pleased with the results of these flip books. I tried making a pop one as well, which when you look at reference materials for you realise looks nothing how you imagine when slowed down! Im not sure how effective that one is. I have used timing in these animations, for example in the release animation the balloon moves more between frames at the start when its filled with air than it does when it has deflated later on. I also used squash and stretch as well as staging, I feel its been really helpful to gain more of an understanding of these core principles. I would like to take this further and create a really refined flip book (preferably one that doesn't come apart)
I will be bringing my flip books into class so that they can be viewed more easily as video doesn't do them justice and its hard to see what is going on.
