Weight

 This weeks task was to create an animation showing weight.




To be honest I'm not too happy with it, I think it needs much more work. it has appeal and I think it does show weight, but some of the timing is off and so it doesn't flow as well as I'd of liked. I have another, more creative idea for this task also but due to illness haven't been able to complete it yet.

Flip Books

 For this brief we had to create 3 flip book sequences  1. releasing a balloon and seeing it shoot off 2. dropping a balloon filled with water 3. flicking an inflated balloon We started by recording videos of each to use as reference. I ended up exaggerating my animations a lot from those initial videos. I have attempted to record myself flipping the books but its not the clearest to see.   I am pleased with the results of these flip books. I tried making a pop one as well, which when you look at reference materials for you realise looks nothing how you imagine when slowed down! Im not sure how effective that one is. I have used timing in these animations, for example in the release animation the balloon moves more between frames at the start when its filled with air than it does when it has deflated later on. 360 Head Turn Animation

 For this task we were asked to create a 360 head spin that was fit for a zoetrope. 10.x10cm boxes.  It was optional but I decided to do mine traditionally because I think it really tests a creative muscle that digital does not, and I'm already versed in digital. The difficulty with traditional animation in the way that I did is that there was no layers, so I couldn't directly compare frames with one another, so my final result is a little off, but I feel it has a charm. I started off just drawing the head shapes on paper, trying to visualise how it would look from each angle.  after that I then designed more of a character. I then refined the character at a slightly larger scale.  I then sketched out each of my final iterations, this gif I put together by taking photographs and just putting them together on the computer.
